Amy McGowan, MS,LPC,NCC

Amy began working for Seashore Family Services in March of 2017. She graduated from Monmouth University with her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology from Monmouth University. Amy is a Nationally Certified Counselor with the goal of obtaining her Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor credentials. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the International Honor Society for professional counselors. She is avid about working with the substance abuse population. Amy’s professional experience at Seashore involves working with both adolescents and adults of the mental health and substance abuse population. Amy’s previous professional experience includes working with adults with co-occurring illnesses in an inpatient facility, as well as working with women and children whom are survivors of domestic violence.
Ashley Gracia MSW, LCSW
Ashley began working with Seashore Family Services of NJ in July 2017. She provides substance use disorder counseling services for the adult population and works in the admissions department in Toms River. Her previous experience is working with adults in an outpatient setting and with adolescents in a residential setting. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Monmouth University. She obtained her professional license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey in 2019. She is pursuing additional professional licenses as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Barbara is the full-time secretary and provides office support in our Beaverson Office. She has more than thirty-five years of working experience in both legal and executive secretarial fields. Prior to joining SFSNJ, Barbara worked for the Arizona State Veterans Home in Phoenix, AZ as the Executive Secretary to the Administrator, where she worked on a daily basis with the resident Veterans and Executive staff. Barbara has a great deal of expertise and patience in dealing with people and is happy to be associated with SFSNJ.
Carol Bakelaar
Carol began working fulltime at Seashore in 2018 and recently earned her LSW. She holds a BA in Social Sciences from Thomas Edison College, and an MSW from Widener University. She is a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society at Widener University and served as an intern at Seashore in 2015-2016 while earning her MSW. She is currently working towards earning her LCSW license. Carol is dedicated to serving in the substance abuse treatment field and works with the adult population in our Toms River office. Carol also has a lot of fun taking care of her granddaughter and enjoys sunsets on the beach when time allows.
Dawn Bobb Romanick MS, CSW

Dawn joined the staff of Seashore in 2018 she has 30 years combined experience in both Clinical and Administrative work with adults who have co-occuring disorders. Dawn is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Dawn graduated from The New School for Social Research with a Master of Science in Health Services Management and Policy. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (minor Psychology) from Brooklyn College/City University of New York. She is in the process of pursuing credentials as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Denise provides daily office support in the Brick Office. She possesses more than twelve years of legal secretarial experience in both the private and corporate sectors. Prior to joining SFSNJ, Denise worked for PNC Bank as an Administrative Legal Assistant to the Executive Vice President of PNC’s NJ Legal Department for six years. She also spent six years managing a private firm specializing in Labor Relations/Negotiations. Through her work experience, she has gained a great deal of practical knowledge and organizational ability. She truly enjoys interacting with people and is pleased that working at Seashore Family Services affords her the opportunity to do so.
Diane Cassidy, CADC
Diane is rejoining our staff as an Addictions Counselor. She completed her CADC class hours and earned 30 credits in psychology and addiction from Thomas A. Edison College. Diane has worked in the field of addiction since obtaining her CADC in 2008 at all levels of care with every population – adolescents, adults, co=occurring individuals and within the jail and prison communities. She is passionate about helping others understand what addiction is and the negative impact it has in one’s life as well as educating individuals on the changes necessary to become the “real” individual you are meant to be.

Julie began working with Seashore Family services in March of 2019. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and graduated from SUNY Stony brook. She is currently per suing her CADC at Ocean County College and through the State of New Jersey. Julie has extensive experience working with Behavioral therapy with a variety of populations, from Children to adults with various physical and/or mental disabilities. Julie has a passion for helping others and encourages them to find the potential in themselves, overcome their obstacles and reach their goals.
Lori Enquist-Schmidt, LPC
Clinical Supervisor
Lori Enquist-Schmidt provides clinical supervision for LAC’s at SFSNJ pursuing their full licensure in an OP and IOP setting for adults and adolescents. In addition, Lori is Clinical Affiliate at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care providing Employee Assistance Program Services. Lori provides clinical and programmatic oversight of Adults and adolescent SA IOP and OP services at Center for Wellness as Program Administrator/Supervisor in Monroe Township. Lori has been a certified approved clinical supervisor since 2009. She received her Post Masters Option in Counseling in 2001 at Kean University.
